I'm Back

Hi Everyone,
We're back and we had a great time. Everything was perfect (except for the heat, yikes). Highlight of the trip was we stood in line for over an hour to see 5 Disney characters and was my son and myself very happy. My autograph book was a hit with the characters. Goofy ran up and down the room with the book showing everyone. Donald was little mad that Mickey was on the front and Chip and Dale went nuts for it. All that work payed off. We spent most of our time in Epcot since that is what our son loved the most. Watched the parades at Magic Kingdom and went on the Safari ride in Animal Kingdom. We rolled in around 12:30 this morning and hit the pillows hard. My body is fighting the amount of food I ate. I started off having fruit for breakfast and salads for lunch. Turned into Eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon and burger and fries. So much for eating healthy on vacation. Here are a few photos from the trip.
If you plan a trip to Disney I highly recommend Port Orleans Riverside.

Hope you all got a lot of crafting done while I was away.

Friday Update

Happy Friday,

We leave on Sunday for Disney. YEAH!!!! I'm so excited for our son to take his first plane trip and his first trip to Disney. Family friends have given him maps and books and he has everything planned out where we're going when we get there. I can't wait for him to see Disney, he'll be blown away. Just thinking about not having my computer with me to blog and check the Cricut MB is killing me, but I know for sure I will be on my work email making sure everything is running smooth while I'm gone. So Bertha (that's the name I gave my laptop) will be staying home, but my mom will come by everyday to visit her and feed our precious little kitty Paige.

Some of you may have been having problems getting to my blog via the blogspot.com URL. It's because I have my own domain name and blogger has been having problems redirecting the blogspot.com to my .com page. I was happy to find out it's not just me and is a system problem. Thank goodness.

Now about this card. Does it look like a shirt? or pajamas? It was meant to be a shirt, but I'm thinking it looks like a pair of jammies my dad has. Ha!!!! I found a video how to do this on You Tube and she didn't post the instructions but I figured it out. What do you think cute?

Have a great Friday!

I thought I would share a story about my dad since Father's Day is coming.

July of 2007, nearly 2 years ago we got a call that my Dad had fallen at work and they are taking him to the hospital. He hit his head pretty good and they had done a CAT scan. What we didn't expect was for them to tell us that he had other health problems. That August he had surgery for a shunt. Not to long after that my mom had dropped him at home after a Dr's appointment and went to run some errands. My poor mom came home and found my dad on the floor. Back to the ER we went only to be sent home and said everything is fine. Two days later my dad was having brain surgery for fluid that built up on the outside of his brain. My dad could no longer walk, sit up on his own or eat anything that wasn't mushed up. Three months after that surgery he was able to come back home but weighed less than 110 lb's and still couldn't sit up in his chair on his own. It was very sad to see my dad like this.

Now for the good news....
Although my dad is still in a wheelchair, and my sister and I miss the days that he used to chase my older brother around the house, he is so much better. We found a great program that he attends 3 days a week. He gets to socialize with other people than his nutty family. They take trips to the casino, dollar store, or just stay at the center and play cards. He's gained nearly 70lb (that's a lot for my dad). Can walk a little with assistance and eats everything in sight. He looks great.

One of my dad's part time jobs was a night security guard at the library my husband and I work at and yesterday through the center he attends he was able to visit us. He was a celebrity and it was so nice to see my dad smiling and talking about old times with all the staff.

So Dad....

Note Card Set ~ Video

I have a super busy day today. Work until 4pm, 5:30 I have a board meeting and at 6:3o I have a meeting with our travel agent about our trip to Disney. I can't believe we leave in less than 2 weeks. Wow has the time gone by.

My Birthday is Thursday, so don't forget to stop by for some surprises.

Yesterday I posted a set that my son is giving his 1st grade teacher as a thank you for the end of the school year. I needed to make one more set of note cards and I thought I would film and show you how to make a set of cards quick. I really love the little set and will probably make more as gifts for co-workers. I only had the one tin, so I'll need to search the net for more.

Here is today's video:
Georgia Pacific White Cardstock, K&CO. Wild Raspberry Paper Pad, White Tin, Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery Ribbon, Pink Pirouette CS, Certainly Celery CS, Scallop Edge Punch and Scallop Circle Punch. You'll also need 1-1/4in & 1-3/8 circle punch, adhesive and dimensionals.

A Teacher Gift

Hi All,
We had such a busy weekend. We worked in the yard all day yesterday, getting our plants in and finally mowing the lawn after several days of rain. I even had a chance to work on my son's gift for his teacher. I can't believe school is done this week. Then it's time for summer break. Well for Ethan anyway. I'm so lucky and blessed to have my mom watch him over the summer. I know it's not easy for her taking care of Ethan and my Dad who has been in a wheelchair for almost 2 years now. Words can never say how much I love my mom.

I mod podged some K&Co. paper to the white tin box and added some Certainly Celery Stampin' Up! ribbon and printed my sons teacher's name on some white cardstock and punched it out. I also made a set of note cards to match and a notebook using my Bind It All machine. I still have a nother set of note cards to make in another style pattern paper.

If you have a Bind-it-all machine and would like the instructions on how to make it, visit Robyn's Blog HERE. She made this during National Scrapbook Day and I just can't stop making them.

Have a great Monday

Wednesday Update

So last night I was waiting for stuff to download on my computer and starting looking at some of the images on the Home Decor Solutions Cricut Cartridge and I fell in love with the butterfly.
I had to hurry up and make a card with it. Love Love Love it.....

I used Paper Trey Ink New Leaf & True Black Cardstock, the pattern paper is from BoBunny (Abby Road Vine), Ribbon is also Paper Trey Ink, and the scallop is EK Success-Scallop Diamond punch.

Have a great Wednesday and as always...

Ribbon Bow~Video

It's Monday,
I have so much ribbon I don't know what to do with it all. So I was messing around this weekend and look what I made. I love how it came out.

I used some satin ribbon that I had around to make this bow, as well as a prima from my prima drawer and a button. The measurements for the ribbon are 4-5in and 4-6in pieces of ribbon.
