The other day I picked up my son at my mom's house after work and what does my mom have. A card I made for her birthday when I first started scrapping. Well I had to take it so I can post...
First here is a card I made this morning...
Supplies: Cricut Lyrical Letters Cartridge, Cricut Expression, Scallop Nestabilities, Summer Sunshine Paper Trey Ink Cardstock, Summer Sunshine Satin Ribbon, We R Memory Keepers "Grandma's Kitchen" pattern paper.
Now here is the card from probably that mid to late 90's. I wish I wrote on the card the year I made it. It's amazing how things change and our tools for scrapping keep us changing how we do things.
Have a great Friday and a scrappy weekend!
Love the colors on that card. It's always fun to look back & sometimes wonder "what were we thinking?". Thanks for sharing both cards.
ReplyDeleteLook how much you've grown over the years in your creativity. When I look at my old scrapbooking pages I cringe!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the other posters. I cringe when I look at some of my first scrapbook pages! I thought they looked great at the time. Anyway love the card you made! Jeannette M.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and butterflies! Isn't it scary when you look at the first stuff you made!

I love your Hello card, the colors
ReplyDeleteand the design are great. My
cards are still evolving, but thanks to your great tutorials
and inspriation, they're getting
better!

awww....that is so nice. only mom's do stuff like that. Love both cards :)
ReplyDeleteKeeping in mind that at the time you made that first card, things were so much different, it's still a lovely card. Just like your Mother, my own mom, and my mother-in-law too, have kept every single card I have ever sent them. When I see them, I am still amazed. I put so many bizzar embellishments on them (even Christmas Ornaments and florals pics) ... how silly was that? And worst of all, I used oodles of glue to adhere them down ... little did I know how warped those cards would end up looking.
ReplyDeleteNow look at the cards you make today ... all I can say is ... YOU'VE COME A LONG WAY BABY! =)
Great job ... then and now!
Hugz,
♥Carol♥
We don't know any better until we go back and see our past work :)
ReplyDeleteYou show a lot of promise! I still have my first card and even my husband says I'm improving LOL
Hugs,
Carmen
Isn't it amazing how much improvement we can see when we look back at our first projects? I see that when I look at scrapbook pages! The latest card is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat contrast between the two cards. They are both cute, but aren't you glad we have these new paper crafting tools that help us so much?
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kristina
You've come a long way baby! I have some old stuff too and it is painful. My first scrapbook was a trip to Disney and it is hideous. It is totally covered with stickers, I couldn't get enough!
ReplyDeleteOh, we do improve with age!
Thanks for showing us.
Susan
Oh my how much you have learned. Isn't that the best part of this whole journey. Thanks so much for sharing. I love seeing your growth.
ReplyDeleteWhat would we be without technology? I love looking back at some of my first scrapbooks, that's where I started. I'm sure your Mom will cherish both.
ReplyDeleteLove the card you made this morning. Thank you for sharing all.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at the difference in my style in scrapbooking. It is always evolving.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that she kept it all this time. Obviously meant a lot to her!
That made me feel better as I wondered if I would ever be able to create beautiful things like you do. I guess it gets better with experience and watching others. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteChristina-
ReplyDeleteI have done the same thing looking back on my first few cards. It really is amazing at how much things change, not only tools but eye for design. Thanks for the post. It was fun to see.
