Desk Organizer

Monday? Already?

My project this weekend was this desk organizer. I found it at AcMoore in the wood section a few weeks ago...I need something by my computer to hold pens and notebooks and other little office stuff that I seem to keep misplacing on my desk.

First I white washed it with white acrylic paint and water. After that I covered it with Pink Paislee's Queen Bee collection. I love darker colors...more rustic looking....

At first I didn't know how I was going to dress this up. It was one of those things that I had to keep moving stuff around to figure out what I was going to do. I had to walk away and it wasn't until 9:30 last night that I finally was happy with how it was coming together.

The below picture shows some of the punch outs that coordinate with the Queen Bee collection. The pearls are from Prima's E-Line Collection.

and for the bottom front of the organizer I used the coordinating Queen Bee Ribbon (it's hard to see in the below picture). I was digging through some of my Prima Flowers and came across these really pretty orange, green, blue and pink flowers that I got at Michael's a while back.
I think it gave it the perfect pop of color.

I really enjoy making altered projects. I found this really neat wooden box that is going to be really fun to alter. I think it would be perfect for holding a mini album. Since I'm on vacation next week with no plans of going away (other than a few day trips here and there), I can maybe work on a mini and alter the box too. I hope you all have a great day.

Supplies:
Pink Paislee Queen Bee Collection (ribbon, punchouts and paper)
Prima Flowers (these aren't the ones I used, but I think they are neat)
White Acrylic Paint with water
paint brush-I prefer the Simply Simmons brushes

Cindy Lo Birdhouse card

Happy Sunday,
I hope you are all having a great weekend. Yesterday I decided to sit and play with my Cindy Lo Cricut Cartridge. I've had it for a while now and never played with it.

I used my Gypsy to layout the design for this card. I love my Gypsy, even more now that they have the hide contour feature....I'm thinking I might ever go ahead and make a birdhouse shaped card too.

Enjoy today's video:

Distressed Ink Storage

I decided today I needed to work on a little ink storage organization. Since my collection of Distress Inks has grown I'm finding it harder to find the right ink pad. I did label them with my label maker, but it would be much easier to see the actual color....

So with some old labels we had around the house and some velcro, I'm hard at work and inky to my elbows (OK maybe not my elbows). I'm inking the labels and then writing the names of the ink color on the labels. This way I can see the color when they are on my shelves...I'm also using one side of velcro to adhere the ink sponge to the bottom of my ink pads. This way I'm ready once I select my color....

Hope your having a great Saturday.
Hugs,

Cri-Kits Embosser~Video

Hi Everyone....
I'm in love with the new Cri-Kits Embosser. Oh my....it is awesome.
Working with vellum and metal was a lot of fun. I show in my video a card that I attempted to sew on, but yeah.....I won't post a picture of it. It was a very sad attempt at sewing. My sewing machine and I have issues....
Vellum...LOVE IT....I can't wait to work more with it. I've never really used vellum before in a project, so this was a nice change....

I love the metal and this morning I woke up to an email that Cri-Kits now has 10 colors available. Check them out here.....

Here is a video featuring the Embosser....Enjoy and have a great weekend:)

Cri-Kits Embosser

Check it out.....

I got a package, I got a package....It's the Cricut Embosser...As a design team member I get the chance to play with Cri-Kits new products and they have some amazing new stuff coming out...WOW....

Here is the Cri-Kits Embosser.

I haven't had a chance to play with vellum yet, but here's is an example of an embossed image I did using metal.....It runs so smooth and embossing so nicely...

The embosser has two ends. A thicker point end and a fine point end and it works with your Cri-Kits pen holders.

I'll be back soon with a video on how to use the Embosser....

I downloaded some images from The Greeting Farm (thanks Arlene for the tip) to play with while I wait for my order from 7 kids College Fund. I messed up a little on her foot, but otherwise I don't think it came out too bad...

I order more markers last night from Carpe Diem, so I'll really be playing soon...I especially need the blender pen for when I make a boo boo :)
