Distressed Ink Storage

I decided today I needed to work on a little ink storage organization. Since my collection of Distress Inks has grown I'm finding it harder to find the right ink pad. I did label them with my label maker, but it would be much easier to see the actual color....

So with some old labels we had around the house and some velcro, I'm hard at work and inky to my elbows (OK maybe not my elbows). I'm inking the labels and then writing the names of the ink color on the labels. This way I can see the color when they are on my shelves...I'm also using one side of velcro to adhere the ink sponge to the bottom of my ink pads. This way I'm ready once I select my color....

Hope your having a great Saturday.
Hugs,

That is a super idea, I never thought of putting the sponge below. Thanks!

Creative Christina, I like it. I spent some time yesterday putting my loose paper in some of those 12x12 folders that I just got. I think I purchased 12 and want a few more. :)

Thanks,
Kate

I wondered why the color wasn't anywhere else on the Distress Ink package... you have a great idea (albeit messy)!

Great idea. I just got a box to keep them in, but haven't labeled them yet. I will have to use this process to get that done.

Thanks for sharing!

Great Idea, I kind of did that but used labels and sponded the ink on it and cut it in strips and wrapped it around the botton base of the pad so now I can see all the colors no matter what way you look at them. the pads on the botton is a great idea, did not do that, I just have the standing spinner tool holder and have the handles w/sponge there but like your idea. Also saw a blog (amazinggrace) where she put them in each in little jewelry plastic bags and wrote on them and then and strung them on a key ring so they were handy. Lots of great ideas thanks for sharing yours. Love your blog.

I have my inks labeled, but I love the idea of using the velcro to put the pad on since I don't have enough handles. Great idea-thank you for sharing.
