MS Punch Around The Page

Happy Monday everyone....
WOW it's Thanksgiving week already...We decorated the outside of the house over the weekend. Once it got dark out, like the Griswald's we were out in the front yard admiring our work. The only difference was the lights worked when Scott plugged them in and my aunt didn't come over with a cat wrapped up as a jello dish (or was it a present?)...Christmas Vacation is one of my favorite movies to watch this time of year. It's one of those movies that when your flipping through the channels and come across you stop and watch it....enough of my rambling....

I figured if I did a video on how to use the Punch All Over the Page punches, I should probably do one for the Punch Around the Page punches. (Note: The dimensions for the large punch around the page punches are different...video to come on that later this week or next....Thanks Bridgette for the reminder, totally forgot about the large punch).
Here is a video showing the different sizes you can punch with your punches....Enjoy

Have a great Monday....

Treasure Box

Happy Friday....
WOW this has been a long stressful week and I'm glad to see it come to an end. Looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend....We're going to start decorating the outside of the house tomorrow for Christmas. Ethan is extremely excited, he's been talking about it for days.

On to today's project.
Ethan's piggy bank was this pig that he was given many many years ago...it's sorta baby, so I made him a treasure box to keep the money in he's saving to buy something...

I have to give my hubby some credit on this project. I got as far as painting, covering and putting the metal letters on the box, then I got stuck. Scott came up with the rope idea, the lock, and coins hung on the side.
I must be rubbing off on him...

First I took a paper mache treasure box and painted it brown, then white washed it with some watered down white paint. Then I look some Basic Grey Marjolaine paper measured and trimmed the sections to fit. I sewed along the edges of each section and then used walnut stain distress ink to edge the pattern paper. Once I had the paper sections glued down with mod podge, I started embellishing the box. I wanted to keep it simple and not too little boyish...Added the metal Ethan letters, a Tim Holtz lock and corners. Then added the rope and Tim Holtz coins on the sides.

Time for work. Have a great Friday...

Masking Technique with Lindy Stamp Gang

Hi Everyone,
I was playing around this past weekend and decided to finally try making my own mask (aka stencil) on my Cricut. I used my Gypsy to layout a pretty big size mask. I started in the middle of the mat with a 2" snowflake and just worked my way out using smaller snowflakes. I have some thin transparency sheets and it cut beautifully on my Cricut....Just think of all the different masks we can make....

Today's video is on how I made a background using sticking back canvas...

I've seen these punches done as a sneak peek a few weeks ago and thought they looked really cool. So  yesterday while I was at Michael's looking all the the marvelous Martha Stewart stuff, I found that the have the new Punch All Over The Page Punches....So many to choose from, but I only picked up one since I've never tried it before....I will certainly be buying more...I love them

CraftRoom

Hi Everyone,
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I did a little work on my craft room this weekend...
Here are a few photo's.

This is my Ikea Desk...I put up some of the Bygiel rails on the wall to hold some baskets and my favorite punches that I use the most...

Below is the view from the front of my desk. I have plenty of room to grow on my embellishments center and my CD rack that used to hold my stamps is now a quick reach shelf that holds baskets that I can easily take out and put on my desk.

OK I'll confess this area in the below picture needs a little work. I really dislike that bracket shelving,
but it works for right now...

and the next picture you've seen before in other photos...
My punches are on the Ikea Bygiel rails and my storage area is
the white Jetmax cubes you can find at Michaels. I got most of mine last year
on Thanksgiving night when they had them on sale for 55% off...

Have a great day everyone.

PS Scott tells me my video thingy I'm waiting for shipping :)

Frame

Monday? What happened to the weekend? I had a somewhat crafty weekend....Saturday I finally set my room the way I wanted it to look. I've been looking at a wall since I've had my own craftroom and I always kept it that way because of how I film my videos. Scott came up with a solution to filming (it's on order) and I get to stop starring at walls :) Depending on how long it takes to ship and when it gets here, I may not have any videos this week? Which is OK because I'm going to spend some time this week getting my list of videos straightened out and work on some other projects I have in the works....

Have you all seen the amazing frames that Teri has been making? The frame can be found at Michael's in the wood section and measures 12x12 and holds a 5x7 picture. As soon as I saw the first frame Teri made I had to make one. This frame is for Scott's parents, check out that cutey in the picture. I can't believe he's in 3rd grade already.

I'll try to remember the supplies: I started it two weeks ago and finally finished it up this weekend:
Supplies:
Wood Picture Frame (Michaels), Crackle Medium, Red paint, Black Paint, Pattern Paper (Graphic 45 Playtime Past), Paper Trey Ink: It's official stamp set, torn page die, and twine. Tim Holtz, on the edge file tab. Denin material, Sakura White Gel Pen, Don Juan Cricut Cartridge (Stars)
and a whole lotta love :)

Magical Mica's

Hi Everyone,
I haven't really been in the mood to actually make projects, but I have been wanting to play. Thought today I would show you a video on the Magical Mica's from Lindy's Stamp Gang. They are so much fun to play with and I love the two tone look. The Mica's I used in the this video is an orange with a really beautiful gold called red hot poker (I love the names). What I like best about the Mica's is you don't have to set them,  the gum arabic is already in the Mica's.  You can also use them with Versamark as a rub.

Don't forget to check out the giveaway posted over on their YouTube Channel... and while you are there check out all the other great designers. They have a fantastically talented group of designers...
Have a great Thursday :0)

Cricut Smiley Card

Hi Everyone,
After about an hour of trying to download and update my Gypsy on my MAC, following some instructions for Mac users on the MB, and finally just giving up and going to my hubbies PC to download the synch software, I finally updated my Gypsy.....Woot Woot! So did everyone download their 6 free cartridges?

Since I had my G out and Smiley Cards on the screen I played with welding the "XO" image into a shaped card. I kept it really simple since I was just making sure everything was working fine and everything cut perfectly...

Here is the Card...

I used some cardstock (it could be SU?) that I had in my stash and some old Stampin' Up! ribbon.

The faces I stamped with Peachy Keen Stamps
(Everyday Faces)

Have a great day...

PS I'm not sure it Provo extended the 6 free cartridge promotion? With the site being down most of the day, I'm thinking they will?
