PTI Haul and Paper Trimmer

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are having a great week. It's moving along quickly here :)

Today I thought I would share my scrap goodies from Paper Trey Ink. I normally don't order this much at one time, but it was my valentine's day present from Scott and my regular PTI order that I place ever month. It was like Christmas when the box came....

Here is a link to the paper trimmer...It's really a nice trimmer.

The other day when I posted my "My Desk" video, lots of you asked about the name of my desk. Here is a link to it...

Some wanted to know what was above the Ikea rail with my punches. That was my ink sorter that I got a few years ago from organizemore.com.

Another questions was about Paper Trey Ink. Yep, you can order them online. I haven't purchased anything from Paper Trey Ink that I didn't like. It's all top quality products.

Here is the info on the storage idea for the PTI Dies...Thanks Susan for reminding me. I was all over Nicole Heady's blog looking for it....

OK I think that is all for now. Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow with a little video on how to set up you Paper Trey Ink stamps.

  1. Hey sissy!!!! OMG LOVE ALL YOUR NEW PTI GOODIES - WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!! That is the same paper trimmer I have and I LOVE IT for chipboard. You will get used to it - trust me. When cutting chip board I push down really hard and cut from the bottom-up, it seems to work better like that for me. Just play with it....you will LOVE it. It cuts nice and clean ALL THE TIME. I will be placing my PTI order soon - can't wait!!! Hugs, T

  2. They were all out of the button dies, so I treated myself to the friendship jar starter set (with dies) and the spring filler set. Looking forward to seeing what you make :D. TFS!

  3. Christina I just got a trimmer that I love at ac moore... it is a rotary trimmer on one end and a guillotine on the other. Its by two cows and it came with 2 decorative rotary blades...It was 69.99 but I used a 50% off coupon on it. It rocks. I love all of the paper trey ink goodies you got... I never ordered from them but it looks like I'm going to have to start.

  8. Think positive happy thoughts when you use your new trimmer...I love the style. I use an old 12" Carl trimmer that I've had for 20+ years.

  10. I need a new trimmer. I had a Making Memory rotary blade trimmer and I ruined it trying to cut chip board. Let us know how this Fiskars trimmer works for you. I am very interested to know.

  13. Christina,

I have a trimmer exactly like this one. The trick I have found is pressure. I usually push very firmly straight down as I am push or pull across the paper and it usually cuts great. I have had mine for a couple of years and haven't had to change the blade yet. Hope you like it!

  14. You are making it so hard to resist spending money. I have yet to buy from PTI, but am sorely tempted.
Think I may have to head over there and pick up that cute couch and chair die and allllll the stamps that go with it.
    Yup, that's what I'll do!!!

  15. I use the Carl Rotary Heavy Duty trimmer 12" It also comes in a 15 and possibly even an 18" Cuts through chipboard like butter. I can cut about 8 - 10 pieces of heavy cardstock at once too with no problems and no pressure needed. The only downside is that the blades are not self sharpening but I have had it for a year now and not replaced the blade.

I would love to see some project using the felt and do PTI dies cut through the felt?

  16. I love, love, love PTI. They have the heaviest cardstock out there. I haven't ordered any of the dies but will be now! I ordered one package of buttons in Ocean Tides as that is my favorite color and I love them. It came with a lot and had all different sizes and styles. I want to order more of them also! Oh boy, I can see big $$$$$ being spent there!

  18. I have a question for you about the Dies. Do they simply emboss paper, or do they cut the shape as well. Do you use a cuttlebug or something like it to do this? I'd like to see a video where you use one of these in conjunction with the coordinating stamp set.
Looks like a fun haul! jealous!!! :-)

  21. Hey Christina love all your new toys! Have fun. I have the older fiskars large rotary trimmer and it has served me well. I'm with heather on the question concerning the dies. I've never used those and not sure whatnot do with those. Would love to see a video on them thanks! Love your blog!

  22. I loved seeing all you got. I can't wait to see possibly a video or something you create with these things because (a) I don't know what you do with those things (b) I've never ordered from PTI and want to wait until I see what you do with your stuff.
I didn't know what that silver sham thing was for.

I hope Ethan has a wonderful birthday and thanks for these little videos as we do go into withdrawal w/o a christina video! :)

  23. I hate to sound dumb, but could you show how to use the dies you bought from Paper Trey Ink? I don't understand how to use them. I am new at this.

    thanks

  24. Christina, love everything you bought. I'd like to see how the buttons turn out. I also have a trimmer similar to that - too lazy to go check out the exact model, but you push both ends down and it locks the paper so the paper doesn't move. Then after you finish cutting, you unlock both ends by pulling them up. I believe your's looks identical to mine. Give it a try. I thought I heard a snap into place when you put paper in, but I noticed your's wasn't cutting, so maybe try pushing the ends into a locked position and that might help.
