Pattern paper organization

Hi Everyone
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had a laid back kind of weekend...Every weekend I've been working on organizing something in my craft room and making things flow a little better. Saturday I spent a little time working in my room and Sunday after a nice family day with Scott and Ethan I went to the movies with my sister and aunt. Since I didn't really have anything planned for a video today I thought I would share what this weekend's organizing project was.

Last weekend when I started working on my layout of Ethan and his cousins I had the worst time trying to find papers. I would pull out collection after collection and ended up with all of them out on the floor, on my desk, just everywhere. So I thought about it during the week on how best I can make that process a little easier.
Here's what it looked like before I started the organizing
I had all my papers bundled together by company, then collection

I decided having them bundled like this wasn't working for me. I started taking them out of the packages and using a tip I got from Nichol Magourick I'm going through them and putting the patterns I like the best face out so I can see them. I only got through three companies so far.

Of course doing this I found all these great sticker sheets, alphabets, and journaling cards. I think next weekend I'll be looking at my embellishments.

I'm also going to start doing Project Life. I was talking to Teri and she gave me that little push I needed to start it. I ordered the kit and it came this past week. I know I'm a a couple weeks late starting, but I'm OK with that.  I was telling my mom about it and she's going to do it too. I decided daily was way to much for me, so I'm going to do it weekly. Since I missed the first couple weeks I'm going to do a week1-4 page and just document some of the things we did in that time. Then start full this week.
If you're not familiar with Project Life you can find info on it HERE.

I hope you all have a great day.
Hugs and happy crafting,

Christina

Boys will be boys layout and a blog redo

Hi Everyone,
Oh my goodness I'm so happy. Check it out I got a blog redo and I love it. Kim over at 733blogdesigns was amazing to work with. I sent in my request for my blog design not even two weeks ago and she emailed me right back to say I would be in the design line for this week. Yesterday as I was walking to my car after work I checked my email. She emailed me with a little question about my blog and 1/2hour later I had a draft...umm it wasn't a draft to me it was done. Her service is amazing and she is sooo talented. Thank you Kim for a fabulous new blog...

Now for my layout.
What would we do without Nichol Magourick and all her amazing talent and inspiration on making layouts and working on preserving our families memories.
Ethan absolutely loves and looks up to his cousins (my brothers boys) and I love seeing them together. They always have a great time.

I printed the journaling on a piece of Basic Grey pattern paper and added the "celebrate being a kid" using an Ali Edwards stamp set on the side. The buttons helped fill in that little space at the end of the journaling.

I can't get enough of Ali Edwards stamps. "Remember this" and "Love this" made great little tags to add to the pictures.

My title is a download from the Silhouette America Store.

Thanks everyone for stopping by. Hope you have a great day.
Hugs and happy crafting :)

Heart Wreath

Hi Everyone,
I know not all of you are interested in the Silhouette tutorials so I have a bonus video for you today. Thought I would share with you my 3D flower heart wreath that I made this past weekend. I found the idea on Pinterest, but didn't pin it to one of my boards so I can't tell you who I got the idea from. So Thank you to the person who ever you might be :)

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had a small snow storm on Saturday (our first for the season) and we had so much fun just staying home and relaxing together as a family. It was very enjoyable.

Stampin' on Friday (1/20/12) Leap for the sky

Hi Everyone,
WOW! This week went by super fast.
Today's card is super simple in style. No pattern paper, just an image and some sewing....I can see this frog done in some paper piecing with some green/white polka dot pattern paper and a little heart on the frog for Valentine's day.

I watched a webcast featuring Nichol Magourick yesterday on how to take better pictures over on layoutaday.com. I found it really interesting as one of my biggest problems is taking photos of my layouts. I love how Nichol always has a little prop in her photos with her projects....

Thanks for stopping by and see you back here Monday for the 2nd video in the Silhouette Studio series.
