Scrappin' on a Dime 2/27/13 Hey Girl + Bonus

Hi Everyone,
Today's video is the last video for February's Scrappin' on a Dime Series. I hope you enjoyed this month long series and I look forward to working on more soon.
Today's video is a tag using the Seen and Noted papers along with the dress form from Sew Lovely. I love paper piecing using pattern papers :) So much fun.
At the end of the video there is some bonus footage of two other projects I've used the paper collection for. One was my sketch book (see original post HERE) and the other was a week of Project Life.

Project Life 2013: Organization

Hi All,
Happy Monday, hope you had a great weekend :)
Today I wanted to show you how I organized my Project Life 2013 supplies.
I really shouldn't say it's for Project Life strictly, it's more of just craft room organization.

At the beginning of the year I moved all my supplies into my Alex drawer from Ikea because I was planning on doing a very simple version of Project Life this year....Yeah I've gone crazy with it again. I do have to say it is very simple this year and seems to be coming together much easier than last year. Not as time consuming that's for sure. My mom had me pick one of these carts up for her craft room and she raved about them, so I decided I should give one a try. They are so good I bought two. You can find them at Walmart for only $17 which is pretty cheap considering I've seen them for much more than that. They also come in a frosted white drawer and a bright pink.

Thats all for today :) Have a great day

Stampin' On Friday (2/22/13) Thinking of you

Hi Everyone,
Today's Stampin' on Friday is without video due to a really busy schedule this week. Ethan celebrates his 11th birthday next week and we planned on his party for this Saturday. They started to predict snow (which by the way may not happen now) for Saturday on Wednesday so we decided to change his party to Friday night instead...Needless to say I'm now a day behind on everything :) it's okay, it will all come together.

Today's card was made for a friend.
I used some pattern paper from the Basic Grey paper pad called True Love.

Down in the bottom corner... I added a paper doily from the craft store and pulled out my old trusty Coluzzle (no longer available) circle cutter to make a center for the doily. I made a banner shape and stamped the sentiment, punched some butterflies using my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and then added some My Minds Eye enamel dots.

For the top of the card I cut more banner edges and added a Freckled Fawn wood veneer arrow with another cute little butterfly and finished off the card with a sewn edge using thread that matches :)

Thats my card for today. I hope you have a great weekend. See you back here next week.
Hugs and happy crafting,

Scrappin' on a Dime (2/20/12) Cute as a button

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all are having a good week so far :) Today's Scrappin' on a Dime video features the same sentiment I used last week on my layout but as it was originally intended (two lines).

My Desk...

Hi All,
You probably remember over the summer when I re-did my craft room (HERE is the video with the stuff I picked up at TJ Maxx over the summer and HERE is the full room tour). I had purchased a few of these really cute black desk accessories and I love them. I picked up another one (two) this weekend and did a little organizing. I was surprised TJMaxx and Marshal's still had them since they usually sell out of stuff quick and they don't restock.

Sorry about the poor photo quality, I took all the photos with my cell phone :)

Okay now doesn't that Making Memories caddy just stick out like a sore thumb? Really white!!!

...Well...

...Not anymore...

I painted it...Yep I did...
I have the older Making Memories caddy that Michael's use to sell a while back. It has a flat finish so it was all ready to be painted without having to sand.

First I took off all the hardware. Don't ya just love my girly screwdriver :)

Then I used regular acrylic craft paint (FolkArt Licorice to be exact) that you would buy at the craft store and I have to say it came out pretty nice. I'm waiting to see how it holds up and if I'll need to give it a clear coat. I'm hoping I don't have to clear coat it just in case I want to change the color again.

Here is what it looks like after painting and all filled up with my tools.

I'm very happy with how it came out. I was working at my desk today and so far no chips out of the paint.
Have a great rest of the weekend :)
Hugs and happy crafting,

Stampin' on Friday (2/15/13) Hello Sweet Friend

Hi Everyone,
Sorry about the delay with today's Stampin' on Friday :) I was all ready last night to film and this terrible headache hit me :( I'm feeling much better today :)

I've been having so much fun adding paper doilies to my projects, like the sketch book I showed you on Monday and another card that I will be showing next week. I wanted to add one to this card as well but I only have white so I pulled out my parisian lace Paper Trey Ink die and made one with Vintage Cream card stock. So much fun
