Homemade for the Holidays Video Series #2: Holiday Card Display Board

Hi Everyone, Happy Monday! Today's video is inspired by a board I saw at Hobby Lobby for displaying greeting cards. Since I had most of these supplies on-hand I thought it would be fun to make this for displaying personalized cards during the holiday season.
{Supplies are listed below in the thumbnails at the end of the blog post}

Here is the video:

Here is a full photo of how the board turned out. I mentioned in the video you might want to add a layer of Mod Podge over the vinyl to protect it. I decided to skip this step so I can change out the sentiment for different holidays and occasions.

If you missed the first video in the series you can check it out on this blog post: Handmade for the Holidays Series #1

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you all next time.

Cricut Maker and What I've made so far + Sales

Hi All,
I've had some time to really play with the Cricut Maker and wanted to share some things I've made so far.

I've cut vinyl to make this fall sign. (hint Homemade for the Holidays #2 has vinyl in it)

and fabric (without having to use a bond on the back of the material) to make Baxter this really cute fall bandana for Thanksgiving. The rotary blade is amazing and cuts like butter. I've got a few ideas on some home decor for the holidays I want to try out.

I also cut a gold iron on vinyl and made Scott a t-shirt with his work logo using the Easy Press.

I'm in total love with this machine. The detailed cuts with the Maker is above and beyond any other version of the Cricut, or any other machine for that matter. I'm having so much fun playing and using the machine to create for the holidays.

I thought I would share some deals that are happening right now and ending on Dec 1st over on the Cricut Website.

This one is the Essentials Collection. I really wish I got this one when I purchased my machine. So many tools I can really use.

Here is another amazing deal if you want to try your hand at playing with vinyl

and of course you need to have access to all those amazing images. Sign up for Cricut Access Subscription
Thanks everyone for stopping by today. I hope you all are having a great weekend.
Hugs, Christina

Homemade For The Holiday Series #1: Making Holiday Cards

Hello,
I hope you all had a great weekend :)
Today we're starting a new video series called "Homemade For The Holidays".
Every year I make some sort of gift for a family member and this year I thought I share those ideas with you.  I've made gift card holders, treats for my niece and nephews, and even a hand scrub for my fellow co-workers. I love the feeling of giving and handmade makes it even more fun.

Our first video is making holiday cards. The past few years I've been making a few batches of holiday cards to take to work and send out to other departments and library's. Here is the first set for this year.

Hello Fall

Hello Everyone and Happy Friday,

Who loves Paper Trey Ink Stamps? I do, I do!
I just got my order last week and had to head out for a conference the first 1/2 of this week. I thought about these stamps the whole time. I couldn't wait to get home and color.

I jumped right into the Autumn Scarecrow set and whipped out my Prisma pencils first thing  yesterday morning. I had so much fun with this one. I did color his jacket red at first, but decided to do something a little different.

Here is today's video. I'll post all the insructions and supplies below the video.

Watch Below | Watch on You Tube

Here are the instructions:
I started with a piece of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" white cardstock and stamped the scarecrow in black ink. Using my Prisma Markers, I colored in my image and then stamped the sentiment. Using some wonky oval dies, I die cut the scarecrow with the largest die in the set, and then used some pattern paper with an oval the next size down.  With another piece of pattern paper, I trimmed it down to 4" x 5-1/4" and matted that on my card base (4-1/2" x 5-1/2"). After layering my stamped image and the pattern paper, I added a twine bow and some crystal drops.

Here are the supplies I used to make today's card.

Don't forget if you have suggestions for videos, please use the link above or on the side of the page.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Cricut Cuttlebug V.3

Hi Everyone

I'm so excited to be back making videos. I had so much fun setting up my equipment and getting ready to film. It took me a day or two to film because I didn't want the excitement of prepping to end. hehe.

Thank you so much for the kind words and for leaving video requests. Your support means the world to me.

Let's start off with an updated tutorial on the Cricut Cuttlebug. I did a video many years ago on the different types of dies you can use with your machine, and it's one of my most popular videos to date.
One of the biggest comments I get is that their Cuttlebug didn't come with a C plate. Version 3 doesn't either, but it does come with a rubber mat that, when you put it together with an B plate, you have a C plate. Oh Yes! it's totally true.

I know what you're going to ask...Do you like the Cuttlebug better than a Big Shot? I think of them as my children (I know what your thinking, Christina, you only have one child, but I count Scott as a big kid, plus the two cats and our dog) and love them equally. They both have great qualities.

Let's jump into the video and I'll tell you more further down...

Watch Below  | Watch on You Tube

One of the biggest features I love about the Cuttlebug is the fact it takes up less overall space in my crafting area. It's tucks nicely onto a shelf or can sit right on my desk. I absolutely love the color. Yep I'm a sucker for cute colored crafting tools, and I really like how it suctions to my desk while I'm cranking away cutting and embossing.

Here are the supplies featured in today's video.

I hope you enjoyed today's video. See you back here really soon.
Lots of hugs

I have a favor to ask...

Hi All,
I'm super excited to be coming back to crafting. It's been a few months and I'm really happy and excited about crafting and making videos again.  I think I needed to take a few months off. I was starting to stress over getting things done and, with my dad passing last November, I just needed a moment. I hope you understand.

I have been working on the blog the past few days; updating it and getting it ready for my return. I hope you like the new style. I've added a few new links. My About Me page has been updated. I also added a FAQ page and a list of my favorites (work in progress).

I have a lot of ideas of what I want to do here on the blog, and I already started by updating the style, but I need some help from you. I've added a Request a Video link at the top of the blog. I would love for you to request videos idea; projects, tutorials, series, whatever paper crafting idea you might want to see.

You could also fill out this form here too.

I have a few video ideas already brewing and plan to work a bit this week on getting them filmed. Stay Tuned for those.

I've really missed you all
Lots of love to you all,
Christina

Pretty Kitty Hello Card

Hi Everyone, I've got another card for you today. This was one that I started on Friday as I just wanted to color with the new watercolor pencils. I had no clue what I wanted to do with the card itself or how I wanted to lay it out. I just wanted to color the cute kitty and try out the pencils.

It took me til' Sunday to get inspired with the design and was flipping through my DSP when I came across this adorable pattern from the Blooms and Bliss Collection.

Out I whipped some dies and card stock and tada! I think it came out super cute.

The instructions for this card can be found here:

Here are the supplies used to make today's card.

Well that is all I have for today. I hope you are having a great day. See you back here soon.

How To: Window Box Thinlits (Stampin' 101 Video)

Hi Everyone, Welcome back.
Before we hop into today's video, just a reminder for anyone thinking about joining the Hostess Club. There are a few seats lift in a group if you'd like to join in. See all the details about the Hostess Club HERE.
Now for today's video. I mentioned in a video I posted on You Tube on Friday that I'm returning the Stampin' 101 video series. I'm really excited about this series coming back as I love doing How To videos. Let's rock out with the Window Box Thinlits die! Enjoy!
The supplies used for the 3 projects shown in the video are listed below.
You can also download the PDF Supply list here

These boxes would make great party favors, treat boxes for valentine's day, or even toss in a battery operated tea light for some cute home decor.
Here are more photos of the 3 projects.
This first box is my favorite. Sahara Sand card stock is a staple in my SU! supply arsenal.

The next box is super cute. Gotta love the little heart window. The flower on top is made from the Succulent Framelits Dies you can find in the Occasions catalog and Pink Pirouette Card stock.

And finally this is my all time favorite way to make the most out of a die set like this. A card...It came in hand this past weekend when I needed a quick card for my great nieces 2nd birthday.

Here are the supplies used to make today's projects.

Sealed With Love (One Stamp set, Three Cards Series)

Today's share is a new series I'm starting called One Stamp Set, Three Cards. I'll be posting these weekly here on my blog and eventually we'll make this a video series. Stay Tuned!

We're using the Sealed with Love stamp set that you can also get as a bundle from the Occasions Catalog that includes the coordinating dies. Super cute set for Valentine's Day.

I've created an instructions sheet for these cards that you can download HERE
And you can see the supplies I used with links down below.

The first card is a 4-1/4" card that I stamped with the small hearts stamp in Real Red ink and the I Love You sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I die cut those adorable hearts with the coordinating die set from the Occasions Catalog in Whisper White card stock and then added a small linen thread bow. I love these bows for adding a little bit of texture to a card. The pattern paper is from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) pad.

The next card is a standard size card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") with Whisper White Yardstick.

I used Real Red cardstock to create a mat piece for the Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the Falling Petals Embossing Folder. Using the coordinating dies I die cut the small envelopes with DSP from the Sending Love Paper Pad and the notecards with Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the small hearts border that I used in the first card on the mini notecard with Real Read ink and added the sentiment Sending Love with Memento Tuxedo black ink. One envelope I closed and tied with a ribbon. For the last envelope I added the notecard that I stamped in Real Red ink with the little hearts cluster.

The last card is another standard size card.

The card base is done in Whisper White Cardstock. I thought it would be fun to stamp out my own pattern paper. Before I did that, I die cut that really cool heart border from the die set on the right, then stamped my background using the cute floral heart with Blushing Bride Ink and for a pop of color I added a little filler stamp with Real Red ink. I love the color combo. The sentiment Hello Love was stamped in the Memento Tuxedo Black ink to make it pop off the page.

So those are my cards for this first post in the series.
Here are the supplies I used to make this card.

If you are ordering under $150 use this Hostess Code N2F69MCW to be entered into a drawing to win Hostess Rewards. Orders over $150 will receive their own rewards at checkout, so please do not use the Hostess Rewards.

Thanks for stopping by today. See you back here soon.
Hugs,

We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch Board {Video}

Hi Ya'll, Today I'm sharing a video of the We R' Memory Keepers Frame Punch Board. I tell you this board is fabulous for any project you are working on...Project Life, Cards, Scrapbook Layouts. The projects are endless with this. I found it really easy to use and got the hang of it quickly.
Here are a few Pins from Pinterest of projects others have done that might inspire you as well.

I made this card with the Frame Punch Board using goodies from my recent haul video.

I started with a top folding card base of Neenah Solar White 110LB card stock. (Why does the computer keep changing card stock to yardstick? grrr I mean really...I can't make it one word no matter how hard I try?) Using pattern paper from the Crate Paper Flora collection and die cutting it with Mama Elephant's Sew Happy Dies, I created a mat layer as well as the tag for the sentiment with Neenah Solar White 80LB card stock. Using paper from the same collection I made a frame and popped that up with some foam adhesive. I finished it off with a little bit of seam binding and sequins from my stash.

Here is today's video: Enjoy
